The story of Kanya:

The story of Kanya, is essentially the story of two sisters, Latha.C.Mohan and Madhu Mohan, who have painstakingly built this chain of personal appearance outlets from a single outlet operation way back in 1980. Their undying commitment to the service quality of their customers and non-compromising attitude towards the use of quality products has buoyed them into a five-outlet beauty chain today with a salon in Bangalore as well.

What started off as a passion for Latha, took shape as an idea for a business venture, when she enrolled for a course in Singapore’s prestigious Pivot Point Beauty College. After her course in Pivot Point, she came back to India to establish the first Kanya outlet in Shanthi Vihar, Chennai, with a service staff of two! She also has courses at Vidal Sassoon and Toni and Guy to her credit.

One point that was definitely paramount to both Latha and Madhu was the fact that they wanted Kanya to retain its exclusivity and did not want to compromise on quality. It was this relentless focus that ensured that Kanya was chosen as an exclusive parlour by Shahnaz Hussain in 1990.
